Christ has authority over sins and sickness

March 26, 2017

Christ has authority over sins and over sickness, Christ is vindicated by His Father in Heaven for if not, the paralytic should have not walked purified and forgiven. This miracle is a sign of God the Father full love to the injured and crippled humanity. God the Father has given Christ all authority in heaven and on earth to forgive sins, to pardon repentant, to heal the bodies and to proclaim the Good News of Salvation.

My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ,

Sometimes our souls feel drained and very dry. This means we don't feel any joy, nor have we the desire to walk anymore in this life. When the soul of a person is drained, it means there is tiredness in the spirit of the person. It also means that the person has lost connection with the Holy Spirit, or, at least, the person is under attack from the evil one.
In all cases, the person gets crippled, unable to move, unable to walk towards the Lord, unable to feel life to its fullness. The Gospels of Matthew (9:1–8), Mark (2:1–12) and Luke (5:17–26) report to us an extreme case of a paralytic who in the town of Capernaum, needed the help of others in order to be brought before the Lord for healing. However, Jesus did not only heal the man. First, He extended an authority of forgiving his sins, then He told him to pick up his mat and walk.
Who is this Jesus who has the authority to forgive sins? In my personal faith and according to the teaching of the Holy Church, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, the Savior of the World and Redeemer.
The reason I started my message with what cripples the soul, even though the story is about the healing of a crippled body, is that I decided to go to the source of sickness. Sickness cannot come from God. man is made to live and to enjoy life. However, it is the hate of the devil for our humanity, it is the jealousy is Satan who is the accuser, the liar and the murderer that cripples our bodies and saddens our souls.
Unless we succeed in educating the world about the reality of evil in the world, people may not feel that they need Christ. Unless we show people that Christ has the authority of healing and forgiving sins, people may not seek the help of God. Unless we succeed in leading people to Christ, just like the paralytic was led to him by other men; people who are falling in the snares of the old snake, our enemy, may not realize that their souls have been poisoned and that they need to call upon the faithful brothers and sisters in order to be carried back to Christ.
Finally, today as we draw nearer to discovering the full mystery of Christ as the Savior of mankind by his Passion, Death and Resurrection, we need to receive the Holy Spirit in us again. For it is the Holy Spirit that recognizes Christ as Savior in Us. It is the Holy Spirit that allow us to call "Abba" the Father. It is the Holy Spirit that inspires us on how to defeat evil, our enemy,
how to turn the pain into redemption and how to understand the consolation that comes from God despite the obstacles laid before us by Satan.
What is delaying you from coming back to the Lord? From calling upon the Holy Spirit to renew life and the joy in your soul? Come to Church now! Bring someone back to Church when you come; saving the life of others is the quality of the Christ-like-faithful. We are all called to bring each other to Christ in the Church, we are called to be the laborers in the vineyard of the Lord.
